When to Visit Rajasthan: Seasons, Festivals and Smart Timing

Rajasthan changes character through the year. Picking the right month decides how comfortable your day feels and how much you pay for hotels.

October to March: the classic season

Sunny days and cool evenings make this the best window for forts, palaces and the Jaisalmer dunes. It is also festival time, with the Pushkar Camel Fair in November and the Jaisalmer Desert Festival in February. Book hotels at least a month ahead.

April to June: hot but quiet

Daytime temperatures cross 40 degrees in the desert cities. Plan early sightseeing and rest in the afternoon. Mount Abu is cooler, and Ranthambore gives the best tiger sightings when animals visit waterholes.

July to September: green Rajasthan

Monsoon showers turn the Aravallis green. Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh and Mount Abu look their best, and rates are lower. The tiger reserve in Ranthambore is closed in these months.

Tell us your travel month and we will suggest the right cities and hotels for the season.
